Vermilion Lakes
The #1 birding spot in Banff. Wetlands attract great blue heron, bald eagle, osprey, waterfowl, and shorebirds. Dawn visits are best. Drive or walk the Vermilion Lakes Road.

Easy 2 km loop through marshland near the town. Excellent for warblers, woodpeckers, chickadees, and waterfowl. Quiet and underrated. Starts near the Train Station trailhead.
