About This Trail
Starting from the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, this easy loop meanders through a rare warm-water wetland created by mineral-rich hot springs. The boardwalk passes lush vegetation, endangered Banff Springs snails, and bird-rich marshes with the Bow River as a backdrop. Accessible year-round via Roam Route 4, it provides a fascinating glimpse into geothermal ecology.
