About This Trail

The Bourgeau Lake trail ascends steadily through spruce and larch forest, crossing several avalanche paths before arriving at a pristine alpine lake nestled in a dramatic cirque. The turquoise water reflects the towering walls of Mount Bourgeau and the surrounding ridgeline, creating one of the most photogenic lake settings in Banff. Strong hikers can continue to Harvey Pass for even more expansive views.
