About This Trail

The Cascade Valley trail is one of the most popular groomed cross-country ski routes in Banff National Park. Following the Cascade River north from the trailhead near Lake Minnewanka Road, the trail winds through peaceful spruce forest with mountain views. Parks Canada grooms this trail regularly throughout winter for classic technique. Wildlife sightings are common โ€” watch for elk, coyotes, and the occasional wolf track in the snow.
