About This Trail

Deception Pass serves as the main gateway to the historic Skoki Lodge and surrounding backcountry, climbing from Fish Creek parking through varied terrain to a high pass with views across the Slate Range. The trail passes through subalpine forest, open meadows, and barren alpine zones, providing a cross-section of Rocky Mountain ecosystems in a single day. Strong hikers can make it a day trip, though many use it as the start of a multi-day Skoki adventure.
