About This Trail

Walking across frozen Lake Louise in winter is a bucket-list experience. The lake freezes solid from December, and Parks Canada maintains a cleared walking path across the surface. Snowshoeing along the lakeshore and onto the frozen lake provides completely different perspectives of Victoria Glacier and the surrounding peaks. Snowshoe rentals are available at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and several shops in Lake Louise village. The combination of the frozen turquoise ice, snow-covered peaks, and the grand Chateau backdrop is unforgettable.
