About This Trail
The Spray River Loop is a classic Banff winter trail offering groomed cross-country skiing through the Spray Valley. The trail passes directly below the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel before following the Spray River south into quiet forest. Parks Canada grooms this route for both classic and skate techniques. The relatively flat terrain with gentle rolling hills makes it accessible for intermediate skiers, while the mountain backdrop and river scenery keep it interesting.
