About This Trail

Tunnel Mountain is Banff's quintessential introductory summit, gaining just enough elevation through fragrant Douglas fir forest to deliver rewarding 360-degree views of the town, the Bow Valley, and surrounding peaks. The trail is well-maintained with wide switchbacks and is popular at sunrise and sunset when the light paints the mountains in warm alpenglow. It is one of the most frequently hiked trails in the park for good reason.
