About This Trail

Taylor Lake rewards a steep, sustained forest climb with a stunning alpine lake framed by rugged peaks and subalpine meadows. The trail gains elevation quickly through dense Engelmann spruce forest before emerging at the lake, which sits in a tranquil cirque. An optional side trip to nearby O'Brien Lake adds another gem to the day. This is a quieter alternative to the more famous Lake Louise area lakes and appeals to hikers seeking solitude.
