About This Trail

Starting from the historic Num-Ti-Jah Lodge on the shore of Bow Lake, this trail follows the lakeshore before climbing along glacial moraines to a powerful waterfall fed by meltwater from the Bow Glacier above. This is the birthplace of the Bow River, which flows all the way through Banff and Calgary to the prairies. The combination of a glacier-fed waterfall, turquoise lake, and historic lodge creates one of the most complete mountain experiences on the Icefields Parkway.
