About This Trail

From the Bow Summit parking lot β€” the highest point on the Icefields Parkway β€” a brief paved trail leads to a viewing platform with a jaw-dropping panorama of Peyto Lake. The glacially-fed lake glows an otherworldly blue from rock flour and its distinctive wolf-head shape is instantly recognizable. This is one of the most accessible yet spectacular viewpoints in all of the Canadian Rockies, and a must-stop on any Icefields Parkway drive.
