About This Trail

The trail to Cirque Lake departs from Waterfowl Campground and climbs through mature forest before arriving at a beautiful alpine lake cupped in a classic glacial cirque. Towering walls rise on three sides, creating a natural amphitheatre that amplifies the sense of wilderness. The hike is manageable for most fit hikers and provides excellent alpine scenery without the crowds found at more famous destinations along the Icefields Parkway.
