About This Trail

Nigel Pass offers one of the most rewarding moderate hikes in the northern reaches of Banff National Park, climbing gradually through open meadows to a broad pass with views stretching into the wild and remote Brazeau River valley. The approach crosses several creek drainages and passes through terrain frequented by bighorn sheep and mountain goats. At the pass, the sense of vast wilderness is palpable, with peaks and valleys extending to the horizon in every direction.
